Christina Chia lived in Hong Kong and California before moving to Durham in 1994. She received her Ph.D.in English from. Duke University, where she has taught a range of courses on racial politics in U.S. literature and culture. Her research focuses on the intersections between different communities of color within the context of American racism and imperialism. She is currently Program Coordinator at the Duke Center for Multicultural Affairs. (2005)
