Organizations and individuals that were involved in the Hurricane Katrinarecovery effort in New Orleans are now applying the lessons theylearned following that disaster to help the people ofearthquake-stricken Haiti. Michael Lohman pleadedguilty to a single count of conspiring to obstruct justice, inconnection with one of a string of violent encounters between policeand civilians in the aftermath of Hurricane Katrina in 2005. Policeshot at least 10 people during the week after the storm made landfall.
