Mansfield B. Frazier started writing seriously while incarcerated at the Federal Correction Institution at Ashland, Kentucky. In 1995, around the same time as his release from prison, his first collection of essays, From Behind The Wall: Commentary On Crime, Punishment, Race, and the Underclass by a Prison Inmate, was published by Paragon House. He is now working on a second book, is a contributing editor for Prison Life, a national publication, and writes for the Downtown Tab where he lives in Cleveland, Ohio. He has also started a greeting card company which uses the art of prisoners. (1996)
