Bobby McMillon, from Lenoir, North Carolina, is currently a folk artist-in-residence at Mitchell Community College in Statesville, North Carolina. Having learned, as a child, much of mountain culture from his relatives in eastern Tennessee and western North Carolina, he is a long-time collector and performer of the songs and stories of the Southern Appalachian mountains.
