According to this article, a recent study found that 33% of homes in Kentucky do not have computers, and 40% do not have internet access. But, this is a slight improvement from last year, when the findings were 35% and 45% respectively.

For the first time in its 131 year history, the Kentucky Derby will have corporate sponsorship. Churchill Downs has signed a five year sponsorship deal with Louisville-based Yum Brands, owners of KFC, Pizza Hut, and other fast food chains. The event will be called "The Kentucky Derby presented by Yum!

Tonight is the third and final installment of "Country Boys," the PBS Frontline documentary about two white teens growing up in the Kentucky mountains. I've caught the first two installments, and I'll definitely be watching the last piece of this powerful series by David Sutherland tonight.
