December 15, 2020 - Employees at one of the fast-food giant's outlets in Durham, North Carolina, say they were not notified when a coworker tested positive for COVID-19, putting their health at risk. They recently went on strike to demand better safety protections — as well as higher wages. 

November 5, 2020 - Low-wage essential workers engaged in massive efforts this year to get out the vote across the South and country. Now they're working to ensure that every vote counts.  

October 28, 2020 - As Election Day approaches, frontline workers and anti-poverty activists are encouraging eligible low-wage voters in the nation's poorest region to take part in this year's election in hopes of electing leaders who will support a living wage and respond to the needs of low-wealth communities.

July 1, 2020 - NC Raise Up/Fight for $15 recently brought together essential workers to testify to members of the General Assembly about why workers must be involved in creating and overseeing health and safety guidelines for their industries. This is the testimony of Faith Alexander, a certified nursing assistant at a Fayetteville hospital and a COVID-19 survivor.

February 20, 2020 - Raising Wages NC held a people's hearing about the difficulty of living under North Carolina's $7.25 hourly minimum wage. Workers shared their stories of hardship and called on elected officials and candidates for state office to support a wage hike. 

December 18, 2019 - Republican Gov. Ron DeSantis' appointments have transformed the Florida Supreme Court, which will soon review nine constitutional amendments — including a $15 minimum wage — that were proposed by citizens.

November 21, 2019 - The movement to organize low-wage workers is focusing on the military community of Fayetteville, North Carolina, where earlier this month survivors of the KKK's 1979 massacre of labor organizers offered their insights.
