Louie Crew is the author of Sunspots and The Gay Academic. He has just won his second National Endowment of Humanities summer fellowship, this time to study under grammarian James Sledd at the University of Texas. He has been a Fulbright grantee, and he is on the board of directors of National Council of Teachers of English. He is the founder of Integrity, a national organization of Gay Episcopalians, and he is an associate professor at Fort Valley State College in Fort Valley, Georgia. (1977)
