Jeannette Alden Estruth is an assistant professor of American history at Bard College and a faculty associate at the Harvard Berkman Klein Center for Internet and Society. She was the 2021-2022 American Historical Association J. Franklin Jameson Fellow at the Kluge Center at the United States Library of Congress. She received her doctorate in history, with honors, from New York University in 2018. In 2019, her current book project was a finalist for the Herman E. Krooss Prize for Best Dissertation in Business History. Her writing has appeared in the Washington Post, Business Insider, Business History Review, Public Seminar, Spotlight, IEEE Annals of the History of Computing, and Enterprise and Society, among others. Estruth is currently completing her book manuscript, "The Soul of Silicon Valley: The First Fights for the Future of Big Tech," which explores the history of social movements, the technology industry, and economic culture in the United States.
