September 27, 2023 - Republican lawmakers nationwide have introduced 400 anti-voting bills this year, while in Congress, GOP leaders have introduced an omnibus elections bill that would nationalize voter suppression. In response, Democratic lawmakers have reintroduced key federal voting rights legislation to expand voter protections and counter the attacks on the freedom to vote.

May 25, 2023 - A new report from the Movement Advancement Project ranks the states on their risk for election denialism and finds that more than a few states in the South are vulnerable to attempts to overturn the will of the voters. It also highlights policies that can protect elections from deniers.

March 30, 2023 - A coalition of advocacy groups recently released a report offering ideas on ways to protect and promote democracy in the state. Some of these proposals have since been incorporated into legislation that’s been introduced at the General Assembly.

March 9, 2022 - Organizers are frustrated by Biden giving short shrift to voting rights in his first State of the Union address. In response, they're stepping up efforts to secure federal voting protections as state legislatures across the South continue to pass suppressive voting laws.
