I want to grow
Like a mother of thousands.
I want to sprout
Babies all along the rims
Of my top leaves.
I want the babies to drop,
One at a time, or
All at once —
I don’t care —
As long as they drop,
Sprout, and grow into thousands
Of mothers of thousands.
