Tar Heel Power Brokers
In a new report, "Tar Heel Power Brokers," Facing South/Institute for Southern Studies ranks 102 influential special interests in North Carolina politics through a combination of lobbying power and political spending in N.C. state-level elections. The groups reviewed in the report hired top-ranking lobbyists, according to the N.C. Center for Public Policy Research's 2014 rankings, and spent a total of $18.5 million in state elections since 2012.
