Thank you! Facebook fundraiser for Freedom J School a big success
A big, heart-felt THANK YOU to all of you who took the time to chip in and support the Institute's 24-hour Facebook fundraiser for the Freedom Journalism School this week!
By all measures, the fundraiser was a huge success:
* 336 of you joined the cause
* 53 of you donated $10 or more
* Overall, we've raised $2,190 on Facebook for the school -- a pioneering program to give grassroots journalists skills and tools to do in-depth investigative reporting.
We also ranked in the top 20 world-wide for the 24-hour America's Giving Challenge for most donations received, despite competing with much larger charities.
Way to go!
If you didn't get a chance to donate and still want to help, you can make a secure, tax-deductible contribution to the school on Facebook or here on the Institute website:
It's great to see so much excitement for the Freedom J School. In the coming weeks we'll be sharing more details about our plans, so stay tuned.
Thanks again! Together, we can train a new generation of free and fearless journalists who can change the South and world!
