Voting Rights Watch: People in line when the polls close can still vote
The folks from the Voter Suppression Wiki have issued an alert reminding people that if they're in line at a voting station when the polls close, they can still vote:
"Even if you've already voted, you can help get the word out by texting or phoning any friends and relatives you know who are standing in line," says Jon Pincus, one of the organizers of the Voter Suppression Wiki. "Bloggers and local radio stations can also help by broadcasting this information -- and anybody doing last-minute get out the vote work should make sure to tell people as well."For state by state information on when polls close, check here or here. And don't be fooled by deceptive e-mails or text messages falsely claiming the election has been continued until tomorrow. It hasn't.
