Virginia rejects minimum wage hike
From the Washington Post, the Virginia legislature rejected a proposed state minimum wage increase to $6.15 per hour, leaving the current federal minimum wage standard of $5.15 in place. According to the article, 18 other states have implemented their own higher minimum wage.
Money quote: "I can't look at a family anymore and say work is a path out of homelessness," said Thaler McCormick, executive director of ForKids.
