Bursey case debate
Today, we cross-posted at DKos the news -- published earlier here at Facing South -- that the Supreme Court had decided against hearing South Carolina activist Brett Bursey's appeal over 2002 charges that he posed a "Threat to the President."
It's led to a lively debate about the legal ins and outs of the case; I highly recommend checking out the comments on the DKos thread. More than anything, I think, the debate raises important questions about what legal avenues are available to those who are prosecuted under such laws, given their vague nature and how arbitrarily they are applied.
